Our team in alphabetical order, as we can add them:
Albany’s definition of a best friend is a dog – literally. A standout pet stylist at Lucky & Lady, Albany understands dogs and knows how to keep them calm and happy in our Grooming Spa. She and her partner, originally from New York, called Atlanta home in 2014. A student of criminal justice, Albany also enjoys collecting fragrances and nurturing aquarium fish. She’s pictured here with her “sassy” Buddha, a French Bulldog; Kanga, a loving Staffordshire Terrier; and her “giant goofball” Italian Mastiff named Moose. She’s loved dogs since early childhood when she first realized their different personalities, good spirits and their undeniable, unconditional love.
A strong advocate for animal welfare, Brittany is a pet boarding attendant at Lucky & Lady. Originally from New Orleans, Brittany is pet mom to three dogs, a cat, a gecko, a guinea pig and several fish. She’s working toward a chemistry degree at Georgia State University and is also enrolled in a veterinarian technician program. A huge promoter of spaying and neutering, and pet adoptions, Brittany links pets and people as an adoption counselor at the Atlanta Humane Society.
As Lucky & Lady’s resident pet stylist, Candice uniquely understands the connection between grooming and pet health. She specializes in standard and breed-specific cuts. Candice joins us after nine years as a decorated pet groomer and a grooming instructor. In a previous life, Candice worked in medical billing and coding, but soon fell in love with improving the lives of pets. She’s seen here with her own pup, who’s often right by her side – even as she continues her education to better help fur parents make the best choices for their babies.
Welcome to Hannah, the newest addition to our concierge team and an occasional pet enrichment specialist in our playrooms. Originally from Michigan, Hannah is a student at Georgia State University studying psychology. She finds solace and relaxation in creating ceramics. Hannah is seen here with her pet cat, Sticky, who she affectionately calls her “dog-cat” because, much like a dog, he loves to play fetch and go for outdoor walks. Sticky is also a registered emotional support cat.
Hannah helps to create our pet experience as a pet enrichment specialist at Lucky & Lady. Part playroom supervisor and part playroom teacher, Hannah understands pets and their emotions. She is a student at Georgia Gwinnett College majoring in business marketing. When she’s not doting over pets with us, she’s often found baking pastries and desserts. This Miller Grove High School Graduate is pictured here with her two wonderful pets, Sasha and Leonidas.
Literally referred to as a “dog whisperer” by her friends and family, Janell is a pet boarding attendant at Lucky & Lady. One of our newest team members, Janell has a real knack for understanding dogs and their personalities. From the moment she was born, she’s been surrounded by pets. Seen here with her own fur family, Janell simply loves caring for pets at Lucky & Lady and providing all the same level of care as her own pups. She’s a graduate of Stockbridge High School and she studied at Valdosta State University.
It’s all smiles for Kyra, a Pet Enrichment Specialist at Lucky & Lady. She loves watching the doggie conversations while overseeing play in our Enhanced Day Care program. A student at Mercer University, Kyra is actively involved in soccer and is a credentialed referee. She loves biking and hiking with family and also having time to connect with God. She’s passionate about writing and technology, and is “obsessed” with cute dogs – chief among them Vader, pictured here.
Lisa’s love for pets began as a toddler the very day her dad brought home a Beagle-mix puppy. Lisa spotted the worried pup beneath the sofa and, when it barked, she exclaimed “It works!” Lisa’s adoration of pets brought her to us as a pet enrichment specialist on our Alpha Team. Seen here with Mr. Scooty, a rescued Schnauzer mix, Lisa is also a mom to Butters (Cockapoo), Lola (Shepherd-Hound rescue), and 2 rescued cats named Harry and Mowzie. Lisa is a graduate of Southeast Missouri State University and enjoyed a career in marketing and branding.
To say Marsha loves being in the company of pets would be an understatement. Marsha has contributed to the wellbeing of pets and animals for more than 34 years. While managing a comprehensive animal care program at Emory University, Marsha also holds multiple roles at Lucky & Lady, where the pets often appear to communicate with her without even a sound. Marsha and her wife have lived in East Atlanta Village for more than twenty years. Marsha is an avid gardener, bird watcher and pet lover. She’s seen here with her 14-year-old Sophie.
Chances are you’ve interacted with Mindy, an ultimate pet lover. Mindy joined us as a concierge as part of our Alpha Team and was quickly promoted to operations manager. Today, Mindy ensures all of our unique programs, from Enhanced Day Care to our Grooming Spa, are running as efficiently as possible to provide the very best pet experience. A graduate of Georgia State University, Mindy has vast experience in client services and program development, which strengthen all of us. Her real passion is pets. She’s seen here with her “bundles of fur,” Jessie and Elliot.
Saying she’ll one day be referred to as the “crazy cat lady,” Nina has loved and nurtured kitties her entire life. Originally from Ft. Lauderdale, Nina is a graduate of the University of Florida where she studied art history and Classical Greek Archaeology. When she’s not coordinating pet experiences as a Lucky & Lady concierge, Nina operates a non-profit organization aimed at preserving local history and artifacts in the Cabbagetown neighborhood. She’s seen here with Stix. Just off camera are kitties Thor and Pixie.
A former journalist and public relations guy, it took a minute for Ryan to realize his purpose is really pets. As the president of Lucky & Lady, he can be found just about anywhere in the facility, even on the roof making sure our systems are running perfectly. Ryan enjoys time with pets most, which makes sense after nearly four years of research to create our ultimate pet experience. The longtime Grant Park resident is seen here on adoption day for Bichon siblings Duke and Daisy, who joined Samson, the peki-shihtzu-poo (yeah, look that up somewhere, LOL).
So, the Ryan’s here come in pairs. This Ryan is the vice president of Lucky & Lady and partner to the other Ryan. Seen here with their third dog, Samson, Ryan is most commonly behind the scenes, helping to ensure our operation is running smoothly. Originally from Southern California, Ryan works as a marketing executive representing farmers. His joy comes in snuggling with all of the family’s dogs and telling stories about his childhood pets – cats, a dog, a salamander, a hamster and fish.
When it comes to animals, Sandra’s never met a stranger. This pet enrichment specialist has raised horses and fish, but finds the most joy in the presence of dogs. She’s seen here with Luna, a Pembroke Welsh Corgi. Sandra also has two cats, Cheddah, an orange tabby, and Mary Jane, a tortoiseshell. In school to become a professional canine trainer, Sandra hopes to train service and therapy dogs. And with a degree in art therapy, one day Luna will provide support to her clients while they find their voice through art.
Vanessa worked with animals long before joining our team as a concierge. She draws on experience and veterinary studies to help carry out her mission — to reflect all the endless love and care that our domestic companions show us on a daily basis. When she’s not providing the best experience for pets in our care, she works as an Atlanta based photographer specializing in street photography and she also provides creative direction for music artists. Vanessa is seen here with Hennessy, a seven year old Siberian Husky.
