About the position
A Pet Valet at Lucky & Lady® is a fun and vital position responsible for the safe movement of pets in and out of our facility. As anxious and excited pets, mostly dogs, arrive by car, you’ll greet pet parents to conduct a calm and safe transition of the pet from the car and into our facility. You’ll get to know a lot of B*RKING COOL pets and, as the pet’s first point of human interaction, your work will have a profound impact on the pet’s stay at Lucky & Lady® and our entire operation. Success in this position requires substantial patience, solid command of animals in transport by leash, an understanding of our built-in barriers to animal stress, and a real interest in understanding the behavior of dogs – don’t worry, we’ll help you through it! Evenings are very similar but in reverse, to return the pet to the pet parent with the same amount of energy as he arrived.
As a first point of contact for established clients, a Pet Valet sets the stage and helps create our client’s first impression. You’ll help create and maintain our resort-like environment rooted in exceptional customer service and modern technologies. Must have impeccable customer service skills and be able to interact with clients politely and professionally. As with all of our team members, remarkable trust and reliability are required.
As a Pet Valet, you will move pets to and from our indoor play parks, Grooming Spa and overnight accommodations. And you’ll take dogs on outdoor walks. Dependable attendance and reliable transportation are required. All team members must be certified in canine and feline CPR and first aid and we will provide this training.
Depending upon the needs of the day, other responsibilities will include cleaning pet suites, feeding and caring for pets, bathing dogs, doing laundry, cleaning and maintaining the facility, and assisting others when necessary.
Required qualifications
- Must regard safety and security as the absolute highest priority
- Must have excellent communications skills
- Must demonstrate comfort and confidence in handling dogs and cats
- Must be able to lift 20 pounds regularly and 40 pounds occasionally
- Must be eligible for employment in the U.S.
- Must simply love pets
- Dependable attendance and reliable transportation
- All team members must be certified in canine and feline CPR and first aid and we will provide this training
Preferred qualifications
- Previous retail/sales experience
- Previous customer service experience
Lucky & Lady® team members are required to wear and maintain a clean uniform, some of which is provided. Lucky & Lady® is staffed 24/7/365. Team members are generally provided regular shifts but flexibility to work different shifts is required.
